A number of pupils are arriving late for school in the morning. Please note that pupils should be on site for 8.55 a.m. ready to start lessons at 9 a.m. It is extremely disruptive for the teacher and the rest of the class when a child arrives late.
When a pupil is late, their teacher or Miss McCrea will give them a note to pass to you. In addition, the child is recorded as late in our attendance management system. The school Education Welfare Officer audits our attendance statistics on a monthly basis- including late marks. When a pattern of lateness emerges, the school is directed to contact the parents, in order to rectify the situation.
If the lateness persists, the case can be referred to the EWO for their intervention. Please help by ensuring that you have your child(ren) in school promptly.
PTA Support
There has been a slow response to the PTA’s call for help with the Asda Bag Pack this Saturday. The committee members are only asking for two hours of your time. This is a great opportunity to raise money, with no monetary outlay by parents. Our P.7 pupils are permitted to help and the PTA would also encourage older, past pupils to participate. Please contact the school office to offer your support.
